The first year of New Teacher Induction is the program for all new teachers in SUSD. It is believed that this investment is critical in laying the foundation for professional success and advancing the goal of educational excellence for our students.

New Teachers attend training sessions the first four days prior to the start of the school year that includes:

• the Essential Elements of Instruction,
• strategies for effective classroom management,
• and an introduction to the traditions, history, and culture of Sahuarita and the school district.

They will attend two additional days of training in the Fall and Spring that go more in-depth with the Essential Elements of Instruction and strategies for effective classroom management. Additionally, each new teacher will receive instructional coaching support from a master teacher in the district.
