• Driver charges: (2 hr. minimum)  $35.00/hour
  • Please add 45 minutes total for pre and post-trip inspections to your calculated times.
  • Trips not to exceed 150 miles one-way, otherwise an outside charter bus will need to be used.
     
• Fuel charges:     $ 1.75/mile (School Buses Only)
• A minimum of 22 students is required to reserve a yellow bus otherwise need to reserve a white bus and/or van(s)
• Cancellations: If notice of cancellation is not given within 48 hours of the scheduled trip, a $ 55.00 charge per bus will be billed to the school site.

Van/Car charges:  $ 1.25/mile

SUSD vans:

• 7 passengers +1 driver [6 students max + 2 adults (No students in front seat)]
• 9 passengers +1 driver [8 students max + 2 adults (No students in front seat)]
• Maximum of two vans.
   

Note: Need to be at least 21 years of age to use District Vehicle. No students are to be transported in a car; vans are only for student transportation. If you need more than two vans you must reserve a White Bus.

White Bus Charges: $ 1.75/mile

• Capacity =   14 Passengers + 1 Driver
• No Driving or parking under Solar Panels
• Note: Driver training must be completed before reserving a white bus.

• Present a physical and valid Arizona driver’s license and district-provided identification. (Must be at least 21 years old) when transporting students.
• Inspect the vehicle for existing damage to ensure that you and/or your department are not held responsible for that damage upon your return. The vehicle inspection form will need to be filled out completely and turned in to transportation before you leave.
• When returning the Van/Car, please inspect and ensure that the vehicle is clean. There may be a cleaning charge of 25.00 -$ 50.00 charged to the school site if the vehicles/buses are returned dirty. The cleaning fee will be assessed and determined by the Transportation Director.
   

Any transportation that involves transporting student(s) in the van or car at any time must have a purchase order (P.O.) prior to the trip. Proceeding without proper paperwork could result in an after-the-fact letter. (This includes, but is not limited to, athletics, Project Inspire, etc.)

Requests for transportation must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the trip. Requests for transportation must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the trip. Please be advised that Transportation cannot guarantee that the trip will be approved if requests are not made within the 2-week timeframe and have a P.O. already in place, failure to do so may result in the request being denied. Requests will be approved on a first-come, first-served basis.
 

These rates are subject to change at any time and without notice at the discretion of the District Office.
